SIDE EFFECTS AND MANAGEMENT

Most patients tolerate Mounjaro® and Ozempic® well, especially when starting at low doses and increasing gradually.

Common Side Effects (usually mild and temporary)

Most common in the first 2-4 weeks as your body adjusts:

  • Nausea and reduced appetite
  • Digestive changes (diarrhea, constipation, abdominal discomfort)

Rare but Serious Side Effects
  • Pancreatitis (severe abdominal pain)—if you have a history of pancreatitis, you cannot take Mounjaro®
  • Rapid facial volume loss ("Ozempic face")—we monitor your rate of weight loss and can adjust dosing or recommend preventive measures
